Comfy, classic theater with great beer

The Academy Theater is a welcoming spot with three small theaters and a menu that includes Oregon microbrews and pizza from the adjacent Flying Pie Pizzeria. The Academy is a great deal ( $4 for adults, $3 for kids and seniors) and they show a cool mix of movies — mainstream fare, kids' flicks and more "alternative" selections. The employees are friendly, the theaters are clean (and they have neat trays that go in the seat cupholders to hold your beverage and pizza) and it's got a fun neighborhood vibe. They even offer babysitting during afternoon shows.

Great experience in wide open spaces

I spent the day hiking at the Painted Hills and wow is it spectacular. Made my way to Wilson Ranches Retreat where awaiting me was a quaint farm house. I was the first to arrive of the 16 – 20 guests that evening. (By the way I didn't realize their were that many people until the next morning at breakfast when we all set down together, as a few must have arrived while I was in town for dinner.) I unloaded my vehicle into the Pioneer room which was lovely with pictures of the Wilson's family on the walls and just felt like I was staying at grandma's house! I loved it. As soon as I got settled a couple arrived from Portland and we introduced ourselves and got comfortable on the back deck enjoying the view. This is relaxation at it's finest! We saw herds of deer just hanging around. I went into town for dinner and had a pleasant meal. The next morning I had to be on my way early but enjoyed a great breakfast made by Nancy and Phil Wilson. Breakfast was wonderful especially the warm blueberry muffins and conversation was lively. Everyone making their plans for the day which included horseback riding, a visit to one of the John Day Fossil Bed Monument locations or just reading a book on the deck. I was jealous but had a conference to attend and had to say my goodbyes. This is a farmhouse but it also has all the comforts, wonderful bedding and the views! I can't wait to go back and spend a few days instead of just one night.

Fabulous Boarding & Training Experience

I boarded at LOH years ago and moved out of state. We returned about a year and a half ago and are thrilled to be at LOH again. The place just keeps getting better!

Last winter Northwest barns had roofs collapsing and frozen water buckets…but not LOH. They brought in large generators and heated the barn at no extra cost to boarders. I don't know any other barn that would have done that. The horses were safe fed and turned out daily even though no owner could get there in the ice and snow.

I don't know any other northwest barn that offers training in dressage, h/j and eventing, and has a rding school. Can't beat that!

Improvements to the turnouts have been great and we know our horse (an investment) will not get hurt.

We love the groom! What a dear man. He loves the horses and sings to each one.

The General Manager can be credited with all the happy boarders. She runs the place, not the Board, which are all horse owners and equestrian enthusiasts. I'm not sure what turned PepsiLOH off, but I suspect she's one of the folks that wanted to stay for free. Sorry for her/his misfortune, but I can tell you that LOH is the best deal in town.

The Lake Oswego Hunt is a great place to be !

I am shocked by the previous negative posting, I have boarded at LOH for many years and the new management has made a good thing even better.

More turnouts with hogs fuel footing to keep horses high and dry in the winter.

A fantastic full groom / turnout service as part of the board.

Top quality shows and clinics with world class clinicians like Greg Best and Peter Grey

In house horse laundry service

This is an amazing facility with great staff and members, just one visit and you will know how special Lake Oswego Hunt truly is.
